Hello, my name is Elizabeth Alexander. I am your piano teacher. I love playing the piano and I love teaching other people to play the piano. I have lots of patience and lots of creative teaching ideas in order to create lessons tailored to your individual tastes and goals.
Although I am classically trained, I teach the foundations of technique and theory through playing popular repertoire and using a few apps such as SupersonicsPlus and The Most Addicting Sheep Game. I will sneak a classical piece into the repertoire every now and then but only if the student really loves the music. I want all my students to enjoy their time at the piano and I go to great lengths to ensure that the music we learn is engaging and dynamic. In fact, there is so much new and old music out there to choose from that you never have to play a piece you don't like.
I am very good at preparing students for exams but you don’t have to do them to be a piano student. My over-riding goal is to provide you with the musical skills that will keep you playing and exploring music on your own, long after piano lessons with me have ended.
